About the Spark of Love Toy Drive 2020

The Spark of Love campaign began in 1993 as a partnership between ABC7 and firefighters throughout the five-county areas of Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura. Although there are other worthwhile toy drives, Spark of Love is the only one created and operated by firefighters.

This year marks the 28th anniversary of the Firefighters’ Spark of Love campaign, which runs from November 20 through December 24.

Due to the current pandemic, not every Orange County fire station will serve as drop-off sites for new unwrapped toys or sports equipment. Any new unwrapped toy must be in their original packaging or box. We will not distribute stuffed animals, beanie babies, clothing, personal care items or blankets, etc. Sports equipment (like a basketball) is not required to have a box or package. We are also accepting gift cards and cash donations through our Fountain Valley Community Foundation for Spark of Love.

Toys to consider include board and card games, craft activities, art kits, building blocks, dolls, infant toys, car sets, and sports equipment of all kinds. Toys should be in their original packaging or box.

Please help us stay safe by following safety recommendations, including remembering to wear your mask when dropping a donation. We ask that donations are placed inside a plastic bag before being placed in the box. Toy drop off locations:

Fountain Valley Recreation Center 16400 Brookhurst St
Fountain Valley Fire Station One 17737 Bushard St
